I have this ficus. I repotted it and pruned it. It had never been touched prior to this and as you can see the leaves went huge and unlike bonsai.
I want my bonsai to look like the picture that says bonsaiaim.jpg which is also a ficus.
how do I get it like that. How do I get smaller leaves. Also I pruned some brances all the way back on areas where are there no leaves but have knuckles on the branch etc. so im hoping they come out of there.
thanks in advance for tips.

What do you mean bonsai parody. It said bonsai ficus on the plant when purchased and i linked a ficus.
Ive been reading more and it seems mine has a pot bellied trunk looking like a ginseng root. So is mine a ficus ginseng?
Thanks

to answer your question ill quote leatherback as he is correct, you have a different species so will never achieve that goal. what you have is more of a house plant. although im sure the label said bonsai its just a ficus ginseng most likely grafted cant really tell from the photo and labeled as bonsai to sell. since doing this hobby i have never seen one of these look fairly decent (from my experience) and if you search this forum im sure you will find all of them posted look just like yours.

Then I’m afraid you’ll be very disappointed to learn that bonsai do not belong indoor...
