Cut it down. As LB said, bonsai are rarely grown from seed, they are created by reducing larger trees.

That's beyond my skill and I do not want to kill a tree by doing that.

Patience with my seed will have to be a virtue.

See? That is where the problem starts. You can not grow these plants indoors.

Never said it would be indoors. I have a screened in balcony that gets plenty of sun till around noon. I just don't have a place to plant it in the ground.
