Just bought a Mugo. Gravely worked it may be a young Pinus Mugo and therefore may be only a 'pre-bonsai' at this stage. I will post a pic when I have the chance. But I don't want a massive ancient tree. I only want a smallish manageable size. How big and how old does it have to get before it becomes acceptable as a 每日吃瓜?

Recently I saw a tiny juniper, probably quite young, but with a trunk, branches, foliage pads and shaped beautifully. This was done by one of our oldest honorary members - who certainly has the skills.

Size doesn't matter nor does age (for bonsai, that is), if you can make it look like a tree and it's in a pot.
For most very young trees this will not really work though, that's why you want older trees.

I agree as well with literati, also the pot seems a little large for the tree. I don't know the current health of the tree, but I would defiantly check out
