Hi again everyone. Not trying to cause controversy, but I will post some more pictures tomorrow. I haven't done anything to the tree, it's been raining here in Oregon the last few days. I've been leaving it alone

I just google what mallsai was and is there any way I can fix it? I realize I can't do it overnight but for future reference if/when my tree becomes more heathy.

每日吃瓜 is the art of creating a miniaturized version of real trees.
The problem with your plant is that it is not created to look like a real tree - it is shaped to look like a bonsai.
Yes, it can be improved and it can become a bonsai - but indeed that will not be overnight. Most important is to keep it alive and make it grow. You can't shape a tree that isn't healthy and doesn't grow. The trunk is to thin to make a real good tree out of it, but I would consider this your first practice material and not worry too much about it. Cascade style would probably be best, the foliage will need thinning out . But take it easy and start studying.

Google "Juniper cascade" for images - you'll find good and not so good examples. Read the care guidelines for junipers on this website.

Will this be okay to trim and train when it becomes healthy?

absolutely. Once you get strong growth you shoul trim. but then remove clusters, opening the whole canopy up. probably best to find someone near to help, and show you.

Bhawk I think you can make a pretty cascade out of this tree . Don't worry about it being created as a "mallsai". A procumbens nana is a procumbens nana no matter what, and procumbens nana can be bonsai!. I've seen mallsai that look pretty bad, and I don't think yours is one of the bad ones.
