I am sure you can. As we cannot tell what needs cleaning away, hard to tell how. (Somehow my magic glass ball is not showing your tree)

Well, obviously it doesn't show the tree. It should be crystal, not glass.

Why do you do think it needs to be cleaned? Do you have mushrooms, sprouting?

Well... that doesn't help.
Is it a tree that develops scaley bark over time, like pines? You do NOT want to 'clean' that.
But I really don't know what you are meaning or referring to, and my crystal ball has ran out of batteries, so I cannot give a decent reply to your question.

I cleaned the moss off the trunk of my azalea with a SOFT toothbrush and some water. Only becuase I didn't like the look of it.
Not knowing your situation or tree, I can only tell you what I did. Not sure if it helps.
