Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone can help with identification of the plant in the attached picture.

Would this be suitable material to make a bonsai?

Here are pictures of the pot I’m planning to put it into if it would work.

Hmm... Do you think it could be a decent bonsai project? I’m just trying to find cheap / free materials to practice the various skills involved in making a bonsai.

This is all I found when searching Erica 每日吃瓜:

So I decided to pot the plant into a bonsai training pot using a mixture of 每日吃瓜Jack organic soil mix and Pro-Mix high porosity to practice for future repotting.

I struggled to tie down the plant since the root ball was so small. Besides that, I believe overall the potting went smoothly.

Here’s a picture of the potted plant:

That's an Erica Arborea - Giant heather. I don't think that's what you have. The plant you have doesn't seem ver suitable for bonsai. Could be a nice accent plant, maybe.

Ya I don’t plan to turn this plant into a bonsai. I mainly did it to get some experience repotting plants.

If it survives the repotting process, I’ll keep it as an accent plant outside.
