So, I just received a bonsai tree as a gift. It looks like a Juniper (compared to photos) I live in Massachusetts, and it says it is an outdoor plant. Is it okay to put it outside in its early stages of growth?

Yes, junipers should be outdoors at all times no matter age or stage in development.

Just to ensure this is not missed. Junipers should not be kept indoors for any extended duration. Just bringing it in for a few hours to work on incidentally is OK. But keeping it indoors is not an option. They need to spend their lives outside.
