Howdy all,

well these are this years hopefulls transplanted into pots...

these are golden plum trees. they are root suckers that i have been running over with the lawnmower their whole lives :blink: found 'em last year ...what a pleasent surprize



this is a grape vine that has been growing next to my garage for 6 years...my garage is getting torn down and this had to move soooo...makin' a grape bonsai :lol:



just a srub, had to move it ... so what the heck bonsai it



these are just maples that grow everywere so i figured collect them in one area ( i have about 6 more to move) and make a forest



this is an expeiramental styling...2 trees were growing next to each other and the larger had a low fork so i braided them. my plan is to cut the top and continue the braiding and making a bujin style maybe



these are all in pots exept for the small maples. they are plated with a large peice of sandstone

Nice material. The maples sound like the japanese elms here, they are everywhere. The small elms I have were just pulled out of the yard, no digging, if they have at least three feeder roots they survive. I like braid, was thinking about doing that to some elms. Will they fuse together or would they need help?

oh yeah... if you didnt notice i actually tied the top in a knot to hold it,that was last spring and were i tied it is already grown together

Trees thicken with growth. If they encounter en object that is in the way and not moving, the bark will grow around it. With other trees of the same species this will result in fusing. You just need to make sure the stems stay together and they should fuse. When tying with rope / wire: Make sure you replace in time!
