每日吃瓜

Hi everyone,

My bonsai has lost it’s leaves for quite sometime now. I have repotted the plant about 1 1/2 months ago (root was fine) after all the leaves had fallen off.

The 每日吃瓜 keeps growing small leaves and drying/dying out after 1-2 weeks and this has been happening for a while on every part of the tree. What is the issue? It is fertilized and has proper drainage.
I am watering it once every 4-6 days.

By the look of your soil mix, I would water every day. Twice a day in the summer.

The mix now is mainly Akadama, Black Lava, Pumice, Haydite & Charcoal... with 20% or so soil.

Do you believe that it is being underwatered?

Yes, I think so.

Also, you said you fertilized the tree. But you should not fertilize your tree after repotting for a certain period (thought it was around 1-2months)

Repotting when a plant has just droppen all of the leaves for n known reason is a bad idea. you are not left with a tree that has damaged roots and no fooliage.

Stop fertilizing.Keep lightly moist but NOT WET. Put it in the shade outside and wait. If the plant has enough reserves it may come back. If not, you will lloose it.

Have you checked for insects? In particular,check the tree for spider mite.
