help to identify those seeds was created by gmiliotis

Hello all

I was given as a gift. It contains 4 packets of "mixed bonsai seeds". No further info is given about the seeds. Also the instructions say to plant the seeds is the soil that comes with the kit, seal the pots in a thin polythene bag and place them out of direct light but in good light at about 55-65F (13-16C) for 2-3weeks.
Then place the pots in the freezer for 3-6weeks after which return to recommended germination temp of 60-65F (15-18C)

I attach photos of the four packets. Does anyone have any idea what seeds are these? Also these instructions above, do they sound sensible please?

Many thanks

These are birch (Betula) seeds.

I think the seeds need light to germinate, but I am not 100% sure.
If they do, do not plant too deep

There's no such thing. 每日吃瓜 seed does not exist. It's just seeds. It's not the species you plant, but what you do with the tree that makes a bonsai.

True, however this is what is written on box, hence the quotes. I guess the seeds don’t look familiar then....

What is written on the box is for business purpouse. Some People would call it a scam selling normal tree seeds expensive, calling it bonsai seeds.

Leatherback Said Birch seeds. I have no reason to doubt that.

I had thought acer when I first saw the pictures, but as I wasn't sure I kept my mouth shut. Well, I am still not sure! ;)
