Hi! My husband and I just bought a house that has a couple of Japanese Maples and next to one of the maples is another tree that is clearly some kind of bonsai as when we looked closer we saw wires and hooks keeping parts of the branches moving in specific directions. We were hoping to find out what kind of bonsai it is.

Technically, if it's in full ground it's not a bonsai.
That said, it looks like a yew/taxus, however the flowers in those photos are much bigger than the varieties' I know first hand...

It certainly is not some kind of bonsai.

It's not a yew either, it's a western hemlock.
