As LB said it looks like a Pine. I have 2 mountain pines growing as seedlings at the moment and they look very similar to that.

This looks like my Pine - pinus aristata. I have a kit as well but it breaks down the species for me. This one i have trouble getting past the point you are at. I have had true leaves come up but then the seedling just dies. I am working on my fertilizer balance.

You should not fertilize such a young sapling. Maybe that is the problem?
