Hello, I am quite new to bonsai and I have a beautiful 2 year old Norway spruce that I’ve grown from a seed however recently the bottom pines have started to turn a brown color and it’s starting to slowly spread. I’m very worried. Any input would be appreciated.

No experience with that specific specimen but to me that seems pretty normal.
New growth is overshadowing the older one that is dying off.
Spruce (and pine) needles only live for 2/3 years, then dry out. Seems to me that’s just what you’re seeing...
