Yes, I've seen more than one bonsai here in Brazil where the species is well known and native. There are some big grown trees on the streets of S?o Paulo, and it is possible to buy a pre bonsai fairly easily.
*Very difficult* to reduce the leaves and almost impossible to see a bonsai blooming. The trees flower abundantly pink and white beautiful flowers .
Ceiba erianthos is an endemic species in the Northeast and Southeast regions of Brazil in the states of Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro in the Atlantic Forest biome. It occurs in vegetation on rocky outcrops and sandbanks. It is popularly known as paineira-da-praia and paineira-branca.
