Hello there
I am wanting to start growing bonsai and I see them for sale in the Bunnings garden department in Qld australia. If I buy one, how can I ensure it will survive in the heat here? I would really appreciate suggestions.

The best option is to work with local species. Then you know the tree is well adapted to your climate.

If you want to buy Commercial grown species, I Think ficus is your best option. Place it protected from strong mid day sun.

Generally, around here garden center bonsai are not great examples of bonsai
