Fukien tea bonsai

Hello my roommate bought this Fukien tea bonsai. It is recommended to be placed in windowsill but she likes this spot better where it gets indirect light.
At first she had it on a the cooling vent in her room, but I told her the drift would not be good for it.
Looking at the picture can you tell what she is doing wrong? It isn’t misted daily. I guess I could sneak some misting in. It looks even dryer today. I feel bad for the poor tree. It is beautiful.
