This Yew was bought for me early summer as a gift and has received the same loving care as my other trees. The picture shows how it has been for about a month. It hasn't got any better, then again it hasn't got any worse. It came with small stones over the surface, which I suspect may have kept too much moisture in the soil. I haven't pruned or wired any more than what was on it, and it did come from a good bonsai dealer and not a garden centre. Does it have a chance of survival. Any advice would be very much appreciated as I live with the person who bought me the tree and it is embarrassing. Should I have give it a mask ?? :)Dan

Lets start with the basics.

What species is it. In other words, how certain are you this is a yew?

This is exactly what I though. Yew is NOT buddhist pine.

Buddhist pine is podocarpus.
This is indeed what I thought you have there.

I think the similar to yew may be the confusion. But do you think it will survive? It is kept indoors, as it was sold as an indoor.
