Is my Bosnai dead or can I save it? was created by pjustus10

This bonsai of mine was planted back in april last year. It was doing great and had a lot of growth in the summer and now its wilted and browning. I’m not sure what changed. And accident occurred which required repotting but it was starting to look this way before that. Verdict?

That is not a bonsai but a young sapling and it is dead indeed. You killed it by keeping it inside.

The needles are still green, considering it is winter, usually pines tend to change colour to a more dullish green, it may give you the impression that its dead when in fact it actually isnt.

So.. i recommend that you keep watering it and taking care of it as if it were a normal live plant until the winter is over.

When March april comes around, check if it is alive or not by checking how it grows.

It’s actually not inside its on an outdoor patio window sill.

Yellowing of needles is opften a sign of overly wet roots. Pines do not mind the substrate going fairly dry. They do onbject to waterlogged soil.
