I'm a beginner, but I'm looking, to make my first successful Bosai, from a twig, from a dear passed friends tree.
I have two choices, from a conifer and a deciduous.
I've read it can be done, but, their examples, seem to show the cuttings come from smaller trees.
Can a twig, from a grown tree, be propagated?.
TY, so much in advance.

One other factor is pretty much random chance. Some seeds grow; some don't. Some cuttings root; some don't. Skill will improve the odds, but there is practically no guarantee./

If you have access to the trees over time you might want to consider air layering. A little bigger success rate and can give you more mature materials to work with.
