Brand spanking new to bonsai and need help understanding the condition of this tree I've had now a week .
I live in New Mexico and we have a very dry climate I have been watering my tree every other day and monday started to see this brown color in the foliage and am concerned I may be overwatering it . We've had a great few days of good sunshine and it sits outside 6-8 hours in direct sunlight . I am misting the tree twice a day to keep the foliage from drying out . Any help and guidance for the car of this beautiful tree would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

I can't see much wrong with this little plant. I think you are fussing too much. I would not be misting and you need to water when needed not to a schedule. Depending on the temperature will depend on watering regime

Misting is almost no good. A tree functions by soaking up water from the soil, transporting it to the leaves, and expiring from the leaves. Misting raises the humidity around the leaves until the next time the wind blows, but does little else. In particular, it doesn't put any water in the soil for the roots to pick up.

Pour water on the soil until it runs freely out of the drainage holes. (That means there should be drainage holes.) In New Mexico that probably means every day now and more than once during the summer. If you are close to the border probably more often. If you are in the mountains, maybe not quite every day now.

This is correct I may just be fussing but as this is my first tree I really dont want to kill it.
