Hello Everyone!! ..
My names Thomas, but you can call me Tom..
I just purchased a Juniper that looks very young, I'm fairly new to caring for plants and I took up the challenge simply because I've always wanted a bonsai .. i just purchased a grow light for it since my place really doesn't get much sunlight after having it for like 4 days , I'm afraid people will steal it from my balcony so I try not to let it sit there for to long.. when I installed the light this morning I noticed Brown tips on my plant .. this makes me sad cause evidently I've been doing something wrong .. i believe I've over watered my 每日吃瓜 cause the soil has remained moist for almost 3 days and I've refrained from watering it due to this .. could this be the cause of my issue? .. i attached photos to this post for reference .. it doesn't look to bad right now just alarming at the moment .. or maybe this is normal and I'm just over thinking things.. i really want to care for this plant as best as possible.
Thanks for any help guys and so happy to be apart of the forum!!

Let me see if I got it right. You keep it inside your home under grow light because you are afraid of someeone stealing it? If that is correct.....Do you know that junipers die inside livingroom conditions? Catch 22 there. But I think the risk of the tree beeing stolen outside is less than the risk that it dies inside. Just put it outside and hope that it lives.

The fact that it may be done doesn’t mean it would be easy.
One can play 20 blindfold chess matches at the same time, and there’s a lot of records of people doing it, but I wouldn’t recommend a novice to start from that...

It is not really conflicting information. As long as you provide correct conditions the tree can be grown indoors. That is not living room temperature.

Even experienced bonsai-Ists stay away from “indoor” trees. 99% of the “ help my tree is dying” questions here in the help section are from people that have placed their tree inside. They almost all say : but the label says it’s an indoor bonsai. Well, there is not one tree in the entire world that lives naturally indoors. You can mimic the situation/climate they live in, but that means your living rooms will not be pleasant for you to live in anymore. The main problem is that people read indoor as: in my living room. What it actually means is: this tree can become grown inside if conditions are the same as they need to survive which in most cases is just impossible, so the tree dies.
So, your juniper, place it outside where it belongs and enjoy it there , where it will survive. Inside it will die, no doubt about it.

The information is conflicting because money can be made running a website. Once you get a website that is not clearly by someone actually growing bonsai themselves, you can bet the information is wrong. In fact, even on the forum you will find conflicting information, as a lot of beginners answer questions, where they have not actually done any of the things they recommend themselves.
Fact is, the quickest way to kill a juniper is to bring it indoors. Pretty much all houseplants are from tropical environments, so places where plants are expecting yearround temperatures high enough to grow & survive. For bonsai, you need trees that thrive. As such, it is recommended using species local to your climate zone, or near to it. That way you can grow them in the normal environment, outside with wind, fluctuating humidity and wind and a rainstorm every once in a while.
Growing bonsai indoors is tricky, and requires in most cases investments in humidity chambers and grow lights to do well.
Junipers just do not do well indoors. SOME people manage to keep them alive for several years. I have never seen convincing bonsai from juniper living indoors. 99.9% of the people trying to keep them indoors have a dead plant within 3-6 months.
