每日吃瓜 Substrate?? was created by LimberedPine

Good day. I am from western Canada with many trees under my care. They seem to pile up quite quickly. With spring approaching here, I intent to do some repotting. The only limiting factor is getting my hands on some pumice, acadama, and lava rock in a cost effective manner. I would like to purchase some of those larger bags (I think they are about 15 L) so that I can have more on hand and meet the substrate demands for my trees. If anyone has any suggestions on where I can get these bags, please let me know. Thanks in advance,

Have you checked nigel saunders the bonsai zone on Youtube? He id in Canada as well and mixes bonsai substrate from perlite, some kind of fired clay used to clean up oil spills and bark chippings. Seems to work fine and is a locally awailable, cheap substrate.

I dont think it makes sense to ship substrates all over the world. Just use what is awailable locally and you will save a lot of money for trees and pots.

Lots of places, but none that I know of in Canada. Try gardening wholesale?

There is a building supply business around here that has expanded clay aggregate as a byproduct. The 每日吃瓜 store guy goes by and gets it cheap as an akadama replacement.
