每日吃瓜

I got a Chinese Elm 每日吃瓜 almost 4 years ago. I had been keeping it inside, in a well lit area, for most of that time. About a year ago I neglected it water wise and it began to drop a lot of leaves. I brought it back by watering more consistently.

However, it hasn't been the same since. The colour of the leaves, even fully grown leaves never looks healthy. There's a reddish/brownish tinge to most of the leaves and some are slightly yellowed. Most growth seems to be on new branches and there's plenty of long new branches with leaves only on the end.

I have moved the bonsai outside. I live in Ireland so it's getting a mix of sun and rain and everything in between. Recently repotted for the first time. I combed out the roots as best I could and trimmed them a bit. I hadn't done this before so it was guesswork but I couldn't see or feel any roots that felt like they were rotting. I also fertilised for the first time.

I am seeing some slight improvement, growth on older branches where there hasn't been growth in a long time, however the colour issue remains. Any advice?
