First Juniper think I'm loosing it was created by prezac7

I bought a juniper last year and reside in Omaha, NE in an apt. I tried to prevent death of the plant by placing my tree on a flat cardbord box and an old rug mat. I wrapped the humidity tray with a blanket and placed an individual greenhouse over the tree to protect it. Overall it did ok, had some dry branches that needed to prune. During the winter we had a night of a bad windstorm that knocked over the greenhouse and uprooted the plant, it was not wired down. I quickly repoted and fixed everything. It handed ok for about a month before I took down the greenhouse. The needles were a little dry and I started watering more regularly about once a week. Two or three weeks ago I repotted the plant and wired it to the pot. The needles were wtill a little dry but greener than what I see now. I have it out on my deck facing the East, a big tree by the apt building provides some cover from direct sunlight. We haven't had much rain during this spring we are in drought. I wasn't sure if I am watering it too much or too little. Today when I took the picture tested the soil and it appeard dry, so I am starting to think I am underwatering it.

Is this tree too far gone or if I provide a little more watering schedule could it recover? I know I need to prune some of the dry needles. I am not furtilizing during this illness. Is there other possible solutions? Or just have patience with the watering and time? Or consider it lost?

Hi,

Such a sad story. It happens, is all I can say. most of us had such events take place and we might end up loosing a tree.

In your case, the pictures did not upload so it is hard to be specific.

In general:
If you repotted in an open, well-draining substrate or inorganic nature, you can water your tree every day, and you need to water untill it starts running out at the bottom, every time.

Misting can help. Do this ideally in the evening as it is cooling down, so the water evaporates less quickly. And although junipers love full sun, for recovery it can be beneficial to allow only early momning or late afternoon sun to reach the tree.
