This is my second attempt to post this question, I'm sorry if it's duplicate, but I don't see it here at all.
So. Hello everyone. This is my new friend ficus microcarpa, which I have brought home 2 weeks ago. Since then it has been dropping leaves, at first just a few, some started to yellow gradually, but two days ago it went nuts. The whole tree is down and those two days ago the leaves also started to turn brown. I have no idea what happened. At first it was okay, I thought that it's just trying to get used to the environment, then I read that it needs humidity, I misted it as I don't have a humidifier and of financial reasons am not planning on getting one, but that probably hurt the plant even more. My question is, what can I do now? Is it dead?? Can I help it somehow? I see new growth on the arch, will they make it?? I also had some green small watercress-like florets in the soil and pluck them out as I just thought it is some garbage seeds from the soil, but now scrolling through this forum I've seen that you also have those in the soil sometimes. What is it?? Should I keep it there?? Thank you for your tips and advice.

Have you watered it? To kill in such a short time is not easy. No water will do it. Misting is not watering, you could start by watering it and hope it recovers, it may it may not.?

Yes, I was checking on the soil regularly and tried to make it moist.

For this to happen in such a short time is odd, where did you get it from? Was it a reputable supplier? If it was then if you have been watering I would get it back to where you bought it and complain.

It is was a hobby market here in my country. I'd rather keep it and as you said see what happens. But thank you.

The tree was never a bonsai. But it does not matter when it is dead.

anybody ever stumbles upon this thread, I just wanted to update that, dont worry, give it some time, it will burst with pups later on, didnt give it any extra care, let the leaves drop and chopped the dead part (might redo it later, but I actually like the fork there)

That is a perfect example of a totally dead graft and the root stock sprouting their leafs. It was never a bonsai. Now it is no longer a microcarpa.
