? I rescued this tree today that someone at the tip was about to throw away. It has a split trunk and a lot of die back on the lower branches. Looking for suggestions, can I get the trunk to heal and bud back the branches, or air layer? Maybe even some carving/jin?
Would love to hear ideas from the community?
Or would you just take it back to the tip ??

Clean the pot up, cut the dead bits off and see how it does this year. I would not do much to it, re potting os too late this year, but that is probably what it needs, You could stir the soil to make sure it is draining well. Fertiliser as well. It looks ok, so it could make a nice image in time, but don't be temoted to rush it.

Thank you.
i gave it a good weed and feed and strapped up the trunk. The soil is actually nice and loose, so I’m hopeful that it will fill out a bit over the summer with some light maintenance pruning. It’ll be an interesting project!
