That is what happens to almost all of them.
The only successful growing of fukien tea tree on this forum is from a member living in year round humid subtropical climate and grow the tree outdoors. In the same area they grow fukiens as hedges.
Fukiens in temperate areas or indoors is to concider similar as cut tulips in the spring. Something you bring into your home to enjoy for a wile and then dispose when not looking good anymore.?

It may well be that the trees in the garden center is sold within a few months after import and they do not at all grow them well over time. At least that is the situation in my local garden centers.
If they actually grow them well, my suggestion is to take all advice from them and not from this forum. Here is noone that has managed it.
Good luck! And please update us no matter if it is a success or a failure. There is knowledge to gain from both of them.
