Arctic Snowbush, help was created by kashikyo

Hello all!

I am very new to the world of bonsais and after looking around local stores for a good shrub or something to make a bonsai out of I found an arctic snowbush, or wrightia antidysenterica. I loved the way it looked and tried to look up how to care for it as a bonsai. I couldn't find anything!

What I'm wondering is since it is closely related to water jasmine (wrightia religiosa) could I take the bonsaI training for it and apply that to the snowbush?

Thanks!

Well, i don't think it's been done before but anything with a woody appearance that can form a 'trunk' and 'branches' should work fine. In fact, that is exclusively what I do, as I don't have any bonsai nurseries nearby and I like to experiment.

you could try caring for it like a water jasmine, but pretty much all bonsai care is the same (
food, water, sun, etc)

That is not true. I can mention quite a few trees with a woody appearance, trunk and branches that are not very, or even not at all, suitable.

No, not pretty much all bonsai care is the same. yes, they all need water, food and sun, but saying all care is the same is too generic.

Wrightia religiosa is suitable for bonsai. I do not think wrightia andtidysenterica is.

I was just saying, if kashikyo has it already, it is worth a try. I'm sure the store he/she bought it from will have given him/her a general care guide which he/she can follow, only follow bonsai techniques aswell.

"tried to look up how to care for it as a bonsai. I couldn't find anything!"

There's a reason why you won't find care guidelines for this plant as bonsai.
