No don't prune anything, just keep it alive (or toss it). Most of growing bonsai is, just keeping it alive.

Thanks Samantha, I think I will let it grow this spring. Being new to this I thought should I be doing anything more....which probably I shouldn't as its not big enough yet.

@Auk: I am new to this so and I added my question to few blogs as I was not sure how HOT is this thing... :) But now i can see its quite a famous hobby....

it's sort of fun growing these little trees, even if they never get to be a major work of art. I have know idea where I could one that would even qualify for a pre-bonsai. sort of stuck with seedlings and cuttings myself.

If you look at the first photo you can see a root popping out from the back, it's not a woman , he just tucked it in behind his legs. :blink: lol
