Thank you all for your advice. Maybe I'll experiment with hard cutbacks on my small trident maple first this summer and let this tree grow for a bit since my trident maple is too spindly anyway. Or like Dominion suggested to cut one of the branches of the fork and see how that goes.. I'll keep you guys posted in the future, thanks.
