Do not know the name; It is a species of juniper. Do not know where they came from; Cannot judge from pictureswhether this was grown with skill, collected or came from John Deeres' nurseries.

No, sorry, I have not met it before. I normally don't name my trees, but if I had to choose a name I would call it something like "Staring Dragon"

Yes, they do! And from Korea, China, the USA and a lot of other countries. They probably do not come from Iceland or Greenland.
For a more serious answer, I recommend you ask the bonsai nursery where you bought this tree.

looks like an itoigawa juniper judging from the colour and density of the foliage..

Really? Itoigawa is much lighter/brighter green. I'd say Kishu or Shimpaku, but it would be guessing. You'd need a better close up and better lighting.
