Hi, I am attempting my first try at bonsai. I would like to do a bougainvillea in honor of my mother who just passed.

Is this plant possible for a beginner?

Start from seed, start from a cutting from my mom's plant, or buy one already started? Want to spend less than $50 if I need to purchase.

You can do use cuttings, or buy a plant that is fully grown. I have the luck get some roots, that I saved, have a look what I did.
