2 m/o Japanese Cherry Blossom Seedling, HELP was created by kayleehanowski

Hello,
I started this Japanese Cherry Blossom from seed. Ever since the spring the thing has just taken off. I really do not know what is next other than letting it grow, grow, grow. However, I really don't want it getting any taller than what it is. How can I stunt it from growing upward and get it to grow more outward? And how soon to wire, prune, and repot?
Any comments or suggestions would be great.
Thanks from a Newb.

Hi, welcome at the forum, hope you have lots of fun!
Let it grow, you can cut it when the tree matures, give it a bigger pot, get some more info on youtube that helps a lot because you can see how things are handled .
Have fun with it. Picture would be good, only seen your Avatar picture.

Just let it grow, for now. My seedlings (apple seeds, from a local orchard), are kept in potting soil, except the unlucky ones. next spring some will go in the garden , some will get bigger pots.
It will take few years, then you'll can trim it down. There's lot's of good stuff online, and you'll have a lot of time to search.
have fun, and welcome
your seedlings doing alright, might just make it through the winter, oh it needs to be outside, all the time.

when growing from seed two things are important. You need to decide which shape your future tree should have: ifyou want a straight trunk, make sure the trunk is straigt. Otherwise, put some extreme bends in it. Especially the lowest cm are hare hard to change once it gets older.
Second are the roots. In winter after one or two seasons, remove the plant fromthe soil and cut the main root back, spread all roots evenly, inorder to get a good nebari.
