I've read that earthworms are good for trees. anyone have any experiences with them? I just found one in soil of one of my trees. I'm not 100 % certain where it came from.. I think probably from one of the trees I bought from a nursery, but that is only my best guess. what are your thoughts?

Worms are good, I add them to all my bonsai.
Garden tee as well, my plants love it.

They add lots of nitrogen to the soil, but an overwhelming presence could also mean too much organic matter. I find one or two with every repot.

On the pots I have on the ground, I find them too, without having added them.

Worms start off extremely small and then grow quickly (full-grown in ~ a year). Ever dug through a compost pile or worm bin? You'd never think they could be so small. They come through the bottom screen, especially if they've been on the ground, like Auk said. They're present every spring when I take them out of the wintering bed.
