Was on my way home from work when I saw a Chinese guy selling bonsai trees in a parking lot. Wanted one since i was a kid so i bought a small one. He included some fertilizer that he said I sprinkle on top and only use it 2 times a year.

Anyone know what kind it is? Do I give it direct sunlight? Where can i educate myself on this tree and what it needs.

This is a cutting from juniper procumbens nana, sometimes called 'dwarf garden juniper.' It has also been trained in a mallsai fashion. Reaearch that term to see what you have. It is an outdoor plant and will not survive indoors.
If you would like to learn real bonsai, read more, watch lots of videos, and join a local club if you can. There's more to it than picking up something sold from a guy in a parking lot. Best of luck.
