My friend gave me his bonsai tree, something I've always wanted but, I'm not very sure it's actually a bonsai tree. If it's not, I still like it a lot but I'm having trouble caring for it cause I don't know what it is, if it is a bonsai tree. Some white fur (possibly mold) has arisen on the top on the soil, which I heard could possibly be from overwatering. Please help me!

all i see is a couple of trunks. Natura;;y, that is just a plant. Not a bonsai. The pictures are too unclear to see what is going on.

Looks like a Pachira, and no, that's not how bonsai is done. It's a house plant with no bonsai training.
