Wonder if I should worry about this green sap like stuff emerging from the stem? It's very slighty sticky but semi hard to the touch. Any ideas?

Hi,

Your juniper was damaged. The green stuff you see is something called "callus" and is this plants'way of covering up the open section of the trunk. In time, it will bark over.
