So I have this what I believe is a Japanese Juniper and I have been watering it only once the soil starts to become dry and yet this white substance (pictured below) which I assume is mold has formed at the base of my trees trunk. Could you please tell me what this is or how to get rid of it?

I hope you only took it inside to take the picture. I doubt it os mould on the trunk, have you tried removing it? Water and a toothbrush gently rubbed should be enough

Ill try removing it right now. I've been keeping it inside under a light and I mist it regularly because when I had set it outside it started to wilt and die and ever since I've had it inside it has prospered
