Pandaren每日吃瓜 wrote: I have recently put my Chinese Elm bonsai outside from indoors and it appears to being doing well however I noticed that new leaves started to appear and they look lighter than normal.
What I think may be the issue:
In a darker environment, the plant will try and photosynthesize as much as possible by making more chlorophyll which makes it more green (darker).
Now that it gets more light, it needs less to do the same, so new leaves are lighter.
Let's wait for a real expert on the subject (LB?) to confirm

Could be dark to light transition. Could also just be the mind playing tricks. Young leaves are lighter than mature leaves.

Pandaren每日吃瓜 wrote: I think my bonsai has got some spider mites as when I was repotting 10 days ago I saw a red tiny spider. I flicked it away. My bonsai has webs from one branch to another ( no white stuff on leaves but actual webs). Some of the leaves have started to curl (this is a symptom I am told). If these are spider mites how should I go about removing them.
You sure it wasn't just a red spider?
Compare with the spider mite in this picture:

About removing them... you know I'll tell you to Google, right?

I think its not spider mites but just an annoying spider making webs on the bonsai. However, there is still the problem with the leaves curling. Do you know what this could be?
I've attached a few photos
