It wouldn't do any harm to repot right? No pruning or anything, just change the soil...?

Actually, exposing the roots could do serious damage, bare-rooting doubly so.

Why not? Water with insecticide if you are really worried.

Ok, I have bought some. I just hope it works. I still am no closer to finding out exactly what they are.

The wurms are actually that.. wurms. They live of organic matter in the soil. And in rainy weather I find they miraculously appear in all my pots. Don't worry.

If you are set on repotting.. Defoliate. Wait for the buds to swell. Once they are ready to pop, repot. Keep in the sahde after defoliating untill leaves are on the tree, or your bark can burn.

what helped me to relax about finding bugs a little was to observe the overall health of the tree. If the tree was healthy and I saw one or two bugs, there probably was nothing to worry about. If I had a bug problem usually there were signs in the overall health of the tree.

why not, or is there some damage you have yet to speak of. some bugs are good.

It's like a bug zoo here, they eat each other
