Very nice!

Here with daytime temperatures around -6, night -15 we can only imagine what it feels like to be working on airlayering outside right now! Enjoy for us!

haha shame man! At least you've probably seen a bit of snow. It doesn't snow where i live in winter.

Does anyone know what the tree is that i air layered?

Nice tree, it has some good potential, good to see the air layering turned out well! Unfortunately I don't know which tree it is, if something comes in mind, I'll let you know. Good luck and keep us posted! :)

Tnx Youri, i think its some type of Poplar, the leaves got some sort of fungus infection which is common with poplars so I defoliated it a few weeks ago and new leaves have started to grow back. Im going to keep spraying them with fungicide to keep the fungus away, because the parent trees are still full of the fungus  .

Here are some pics of how the ficus is coming along. Im really happy with all the new growth, hopefully it will help it thicken up a bit quicker :pinch:

Nice job. Of course I am jealous because spring hasn't sprung here...In a month or so I will start posting my trees again. All pre-bonsai of course, but they're all comin' along.

There's nothing wrong with pre bonsai, some of my plants I wouldn't even classify them as pre bonsai yet. Spring is a fun time for bonsai, I have yet to experience my first spring growing plants.

I did a second batch of airlayers on different plants about a month ago, so i will post pics of them soon too. Ive even airlayered a rose bush haha :P

Here's the first successful airlayer from the second batch of air layers i did.

Its a white flowering Hibiscus the flared branches will be great for a broom style bonsai. Let me know what you think if you interested. Ooh i used a mix of palm peat and sphagnum moss for the airlayer, seems to work really well.
