Serissa Sneak peak speckled with wiremarks.. was created by Felidae
Posted 6 years 10 months ago #43540Wires, oh wires... Thanks to the growth spurt and my lack of attention/experience, got some scars on this girl... Now it’s time to change to clip and grow, hence I almost have the desired base structure which I like. I still missing one branch to broke the two parallels on the main part, but it’s growing on the background, waiting for positioning when it’ll be enough strong.
Do you remember me?

Posted 6 years 10 months ago #43543They will really suck the energy of your little girl.
Cut them out as soon as they sprout.

No, it’s not

I’ve got some inspirations for the trunk style from this vid: . Call me a renegade, but that one I call bonsai..
Edit* I eliminate suckers regularly from bad places, but I keep the ones, which help thickening here and there.

Posted 6 years 10 months ago #43547As you must have noticed, just for starters he says "this one is with me for 25 years".
You have the time to wait, I have not.
But even if I had, I would rather spend this time with a big tree, conifer or deciduous, than with a Serissa.
On the other hand, YES, I am a proud owner of a young Serissa Variegata, that is blooming at the moment, and I keep it as a lucky charm among my serious bonsai! hahahahahaha

I believe they have a “raison d’etre”. What I realized on this short time, I try to embrace the diversion and variety of different specs. Currently I’m unable to keep real big ones (4 sq. meter balcony rulez...), but that’ll change with the moving. Even like this, I have some material with over 10-12 cm base girth. This Serissa will never became a majestic showstopper, but I believe, it won’t resemble for the pathetic mallsai photos which google gives you after “Serissa bonsai” keywords...I would rather spend this time with a big tree, conifer or deciduous, than with a Serissa.
Pics, or didn’t happened...On the other hand, YES, I am a proud owner of a young Serissa Variegata, that is blooming at the moment, and I keep it as a lucky charm among my serious bonsai! hahahahahaha

*edit: Full pics or didn’t happened!! (Just joking.. Good to know you have one. Useful for future trolling by me
