Elm repot or not ? was created by 每日吃瓜brandon239

Hello all I would like to start by saying I live in South Florida. My Chinese elm is pushing leaves out pretty well now. I know it's not spring but winter here hasn't gotten below 45 and we are in the 70s now.

Would it be a good time to repot? Maybe if it drops down again bring it inside ?

Thanks

I leave all Elms outdoors year round, and repot them in the very first week of the Spring. It's been working alright for my climate, similar to yours.

I would go by what your plant tells you. The plant does not look on the calender and sais: Jee, it is spring, why have I not been repotted. Buds fattening and starting to open up = spring for the plant.

On that subject - they also tell the local ant community to bring the aphids. Last week the elms started springing leaves out, and then a cherry tree, and I just found the leaf buds covered with aphids. Sigh.
