每日吃瓜

I recently purchased a Ginseng Ficus 每日吃瓜 from IKEA I went to the local nursery GreenView and purchased potting soil (which looks nothing like the moisture moss soil from IKEA) which it came in. I repotted trimmed a few of the root system from the bottom and removed all old soil and placed in new pot with new soil. What I was not told was the wiring? How crucial is the wire to wrap around the trunk and attach to pot? Do I need to re do everything? Need some assistance please.... Thanks again to all Bill?

I also have the plant on my back patio facing south west but is not directly in the sun outside. I reside in Illinois and am aware I will need to bring the plant in for the winter. Is this a good place for the plant to receive light??

Trees are wired into the pot to stop it moving about

I use wire to secure most of my trees into the pots. I live on an island off the coast were there are a lot of winds. Trees wiggeling in the wind damages the fine feeder roots.

For trees that I know will stay in the greenhouse I do not wire into the pots. There is no need for that.
