Hi every one
I am really new to bonsai world as I have got my Zelkova as a gift. About 2months ago I changed the soil and I put it in new pot ( I did almost every step as I read in this website and a few videos on you tube. Every thing was fine until 2 weeks later it stopped growing and this little insects came flying around it. As I see them, they don't feed on leaves or body they just fool in soil, which worries me that they might be feeding on roots. And now I don't even know if the Zelkova is still alive or not.

Please help me

Hm..
Looks like..
- It is inside instead of outside
- The soil is regular potting soil
- It is n a container without drainage
The trunk looks like a dried out dead trunk

Assuming they are not fruit flies, they could be fungus gnats. THey live in soil that is wet for long periods of time. Let the soil dry out more, place outside and water with an insectivide and it should solve the problems
